23 Apr Expansion Launch Week

Last week, we officially kicked off our Capital Campaign Expanding Hope with a week full of celebration, community, and heart. Launch Week marked the start of something monumental: our journey toward building a new five-story addition to our current House that will keep even more families close to the care their children need.
Every day of the week was filled with a special moment, including Crews Subaru matching every donation given during the week, raising over $50,000!
Sunday – Second Sunday on King Street
We started strong at Charleston’s beloved Second Sunday, where we connected with community members, shared our mission, and spread the word about our growing House and how everyone can help make it a reality.
Monday – Media Day
We began with a bang! Local media joined us at the House to help announce the launch of our Capital Campaign. Sharing our story and vision with the broader community was an incredible way to start the week and to set the tone for all the excitement to come.
Tuesday – RiverDogs Game
We rallied our volunteers, interns, donors, House families, and friends for a night at the Joe for the Charleston RiverDogs game. Seeing so many people who have supported RMHC Charleston over the years gathered in one place reminded us of the incredible village behind every family we serve. We also had a family throw the first pitch of the game!
Thursday – Dine + Give Back
Our supporters helped give back just by grabbing a bite to eat! A portion of proceeds from Red Palm Tavern, Pinky & Clyde’s Arcade Bar, The Brick, and Verde on King St. went straight to the Capital Campaign – proving that every meal can help fuel our mission.
Friday – McDonald’s Day with ADPi
We wrapped up the week with a visit to the Spring Street McDonald’s location alongside our friends at the College of Charleston’s Alpha Delta Pi. With the Round-Up for RMHC program in full swing, it was a joy to watch the community say “yes” to rounding up their change to help families. We also had Grimace taking pictures, Channel 2 News and Live 5 News out interviewing, and our own CEO, kp, handing out orders at the drive-thru window!
Launch Week reminded us that while we’re building a bigger House, we’re also building something even more powerful: a stronger community of people who care. Thank you to everyone who showed up, cheered us on, and helped set the tone for this exciting next chapter!
