Seabrook Island Golf Club
The annual Monica Kreber Golf Tournament teed off in 1997 a year after Dave Kreber received a phone call playing a round of golf with business associates that his seven-year-old daughter, Monica, was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia. After three years of chemotherapy and hundreds of nights in the hospital at MUSC, Monica made a full recovery.
For the past 27 years, the Monica Kreber Golf Tournament has raised over $450,000 for cancer research at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital. It will now proudly be helping children battling cancer whose families are staying at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston.
