In April 2026, we had to say goodbye to our Director of Smiles, Gardy.
Gardy was a 12-year-old, hypoallergenic, miniature labradoodle that lived at the House. He was on-call 24 hours a day, spreading love and comfort to our families when they needed it most. Whether it was him sitting quietly besides someone on a hard day or making someone smile while he begged for carrots, he made this House feel even more like a home.
He wasn’t just part of RMHC Charleston; he defined what it felt like to be here. Gardy – thank you for dedicating your life to taking such good care of us all.
