28th Annual Monica Kreber Golf Tournament

On June 20th, the stunning greens of Seabrook Island Golf Course hosted the 28th Annual Monica Kreber Golf Tournament, a heartfelt and unforgettable two-day charity event to help support our families at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston. With a lively pre-party the night before and 160+ golfers teeing off on two championship courses, Crooked Oaks and Ocean Winds, this year marked a powerful debut for RMHC Charleston as the tournament’s official beneficiary.

What began in 1997 as a tribute when Dave Kreber’s daughter Monica was being treated for leukemia has now blossomed into a 28-year-old tradition supporting cancer research and care. This tournament has been directly supporting children battling cancer, and for our House, pediatric cancer is not just a statistic – it’s a story we live alongside the families who stay with us. That means warm beds, comforting meals, and a caring community right outside the hospital doors – and it means the world to families facing one of life’s toughest battles.

This tournament is submerged in the construction community with Dave working for Capitol Materials Coastal, a construction supply company that offers a wide variety of building materials. Other heavy hitters in his industry, even some being competition, have come together for three decades to support one cause: children battling cancer. Their dedication to this cause, year after year, speaks volumes about the strength and generosity of our builders and contractors.

A special thank you to our title sponsors: Capitol Materials Coastal, Gypsum Management & Supply (GMS), National Gypsum, and Gator Gypsum.

Thank you to our volunteers, the Seabrook Island team, Charity Golf International, donors, Maui Jims, supporters, and attendees for making this tournament the success it is.

As we look to the future, we’re honored to now be part of the Monica Kreber Golf Tournament tradition – and we can’t wait to return next year for more golf, more giving, and more love!
