The Wells Family

My name is Whitni Wells Brooklyn, born and raised in South Carolina. The best thing that ever happened to me is my children. I have 1 daughter 8yrs old, a 3yr old son, and twins. I am a mother, a sister, a daughter, and breast cancer survivor.

On September 1st, I found a 10 cm lump in my right breast. I was diagnosed with cancer 2 days later. God has given me the great task of being his strongest and most beautiful angel. All I could say was challenge accepted.

On October 5th, I found out I was pregnant with twins. Within 2 weeks of finding I was pregnant I started chemotherapy. With God’s favor, everything went well. About two months before my due date my twins were born. Being so early they had to stay in the NNICU at MUSC for an entire month. Three days after they arrived, it was time for me to leave the hospital. I was devastated, I couldn’t and didn’t want to leave me babies. My boyfriend and I had prepared to sleep in the car.

There was no need. Ronald McDonald was there for us. Not even a mile away from the children’s hospital was the most amazing place. A home away from home. Everything, everyone was amazing. I will never forget that experience. Ronald McDonald made a rainbow bridge in the storm called life. Thank you is not a gracious enough statement.
