Every donation makes a difference in the lives of the families we serve. Below are some examples of the impact your donation will have. The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charleston annual operating budget is over $750,000. Our families are asked to contribute $10 or $15 per night, but no family is ever turned away for inability to pay.

$10 Laundry Services: One of the homelike comforts we are able to provide is our fully stocked laundry room, open 24 hours. Your gift can help offset the cost of providing this necessity.

$25 In-room Landline Telephone: We offer landlines in every room as an added measure of comfort. Families need to be confident that the hospital can reach them at all times and your gift will ensure they can.

$35 Pet Therapy Program: Meet Cooper the Labradoodle! Nothing can be more comforting after a long, stressful day than the love of a dog. Your gift will help provide Cooper's supplies and services so he can be always ready for the families.

$50 Cost of One Family for One Night: To a hospitalized child, there isn't a medicine known to man that compares to having mom and dad close by. Your gift underwrites our cost to provide a room and allows a family to be close to their critically ill child when a hotel room is simply out of the question.

$100 24-hour Staffing: When your child is sick you do not live by a 9-5 schedule and neither do we. Because of your gift our staff is available to greet and comfort families at anytime night and day.

$250 Dinner for Our Families: Join our Prepare-A-Meal volunteers in providing a meal. Your contribution will help provide supplies for an evening meal and keep our cupboard stocked.

$500 Sponsor the Stay of a family with a child undergoing heart surgery. More than a third of our families have children needing open heart surgery. Your gift will support our cost for their 10-day stay while their child is in intensive care.

$1,000 Refurbish a Bedroom: We are always full at the house and our average stay varies per family. This leads to some wear and tear on our guest rooms. Your gift refurbishes these rooms with new paint and linens to help us serve more families in the future.

$2,500 Running the House for Two Nights: With over 25 rooms in our house, you can imagine the operation costs. Your gift will help us "keep the lights on" for two nights.

$5,000 Sponsor the Stay for a transplant child: Transplant recovery time for a child requires they be close to the hospital for a minimum of 100 days. These families and children need a safe, comfortable, and economically sensitive place of their own. You can sponsor a stay for a transplant child and ease the transition back into healthy living.
